Beverly Swerling was born and raised in Revere, a Boston suburb, went to school in the Midwest, and has lived mostly in New York, with long periods in England, France, and Spain. She has been a contributor to numerous journals and newspapers, including The New York Times, Good Housekeeping, and The Village Voice, and is the author of a number of novels, including the critically acclaimed City of Dreams series, a four volume historical saga set in old New York.
